17 million pounds smashed Neke Williams, Nottingham Forest backcourt recruited reinforcements
7/11/2022, 10:20Just a day later, Nottingham Forest made another strong move after the introduction of Omar Richards, signing the 21-year-old Welsh international and right-back Neco Williams from Liverpool. Multiple sources, including The Daily Telegraph's John Percy, Liverpool team reporters Neil Jones, Paul Gost and James Pierce, have successively confirmed that the Welshman has signed a contract for a period of time. A four-year long-term deal worth close to £17m with all floating clauses included.
After leaving the home team where he has played for 5 years, Neko Williams is a little disappointed, but he is also full of longing for the future. "I'm very happy to be a part of Nottingham Forest and to help this great club continue to climb up the table. Forest pair is a historic club and the City Stadium is a pretty special venue and I can't wait to see it at the top of the table. The next few weeks will be full of experience. After meeting with the head coach, I find that the ambition of the club is still evident; I am eager to come together with my new team-mates and be ready for the challenges ahead."
Nottingham Forest manager Steve Cooper told the club's official website: "Despite being only 21 years old, Neko (Williams) has established himself in Wales' starting lineup. Over the past year, he has Premier League, UEFA Champions League and World Qualifiers, he's an exceptionally talented right-back. We believe he has an unbelievably high ceiling and can return to the Premier League at Nottingham Forest as we go back to the Premier League. Played a huge role in the first season. We are delighted to have him."
