JAKARTA - Persija decided to suspend defender Alfath Faathi for two months, following news about his family that was spread to the public through social media and mass media. Quoted from the official website of Persijadi Jakarta, Monday (15/2), President Persija Mohamad Prapanca said that the sanctions were lowered after management asked Alfath for direct information regarding the problem.

"After hearing the clarification from Alfath, for the good of the team and those concerned, the management of Persija Jakarta decided to release Alfath from all team activities for two months," said Prapanca.

Prapanca said that his party was fully aware of the situation that was being faced by Alfath.

Therefore, the club nicknamed the Kemayoran Tigers issued a suspension decision so that the 24-year-old footballer focused on solving his family problems.

"Some time ago we summoned Alfath. At the meeting, we spoke heart to heart with the person concerned. The aim is to find out what the real problem is, not to let us judge something based solely on news on social media, which sometimes has an unbalanced portion," said Prapanca.

From the news circulating, Alfath is suspected of having a dispute with Queen Rizky Nabila's wife. Starting from social media, the news spread quickly and became a news topic in several media, both written and television.

Alfath himself, along with other Persija players, is actually on the day off by Persija's management because there is no certainty when the Indonesian League 1 season 2021 will be held.

However, competition operator PT Liga Indonesia Baru (LIB) plans to hold a pre-season tournament starting March 20, 2021. If it goes according to plan, then Alfath will certainly be absent from the 2021 Indonesian League preparation competition.
