Arsenal beat Leicester 4-2, Jesus scored twice

In the second round of the 2022/23 Premier League season, Arsenal beat Leicester City 4-2 at home. Jesus scored twice and sent two assists, Xhaka and Martinelli scored separately. After the game, the Gunners ranked second in the Premier League, while Leicester City ranked 14th in the standings.

Arsenal had the upper hand on Leicester City from the start. In the 10th minute, Martinelli took a corner kick, but Jesus put the ball on the side net.

In the 20th minute, Saka's cross from the right accurately found Xhaka in front of the goal, but the Swiss's header was rejected by Leicester City's goal.

After wasting two chances in a row, Jesus finally broke the deadlock in the 23rd minute: he took Xhaka's pass on the left side of the box and opened the scoring with a lob. In the 34th minute, Vardy accidentally sent an own goal assist when he made a header clearance. Jesus took the opportunity to score with a header and help Arsenal take a 2-0 lead.

Changing sides to fight again, Leicester City adopted a rush attack strategy, which eventually caused Saliba to make an own goal, and the Foxes recovered a goal in the 53rd minute. However, only 2 minutes later, Ward made a mistake and failed to pick the ball. Jesus crossed the ball between the lights and flints, assisting Xhaka to score an empty goal.

In the last 16 minutes of the game, Iheanacho got rid of the multi-person defense and made a cross. Madison scored a low shot from a small angle, and Leicester City chased the score to 2-3. However, a minute later, Martinez scored a long shot from the outside of the penalty area with the help of Jesus, helping Arsenal seal the victory.
