Asian Cup draw: Hosts Qatar face China, Tajikistan and Lebanon

Qatar, the host of the Asian Cup , held a draw ceremony on the 11th of this month. Qatar was in the same group as China, Tajikistan and Lebanon.


In the 2019 Asian Cup, Qatar defeated Japan 1-3 in the final to win the championship. In the Qatar World Cup in 2022, Qatar regretted being eliminated from the group stage with a 3-game losing streak. Qatar ended the contract with Spanish coach Felix Sanchez and was replaced by Portuguese coach Carlos Queiroz.


Regarding the draw results of the Asian Cup, Queiroz said: "We know exactly what is in front of us and what to do next. Group D: Japan, Indonesia, Iraq, Vietnam

Group E: South Korea, Malaysia, Jordan, Bahrain

Group F: Saudi Arabia, Thailand, Kyrgyzstan, Oman


The current Asian Cup group stage will be held on January 12, 2024. The first game will be Qatar against Lebanon, but the final will be held on February 10, 2024.
