Boaz Solossa Doesn't Play, This Is Borneo FC Coach's Explanation
9/9/2021, 14:07 JAKARTA — Borneo FC coach Mario Gomez explained why he reserved Boaz Solossa in the first week of the 12021/2022 League against Persebaya Surabaya.
Quoted from the club's official website, Monday (6/9), according to Gomez, Boaz is still not in his best physical condition to play and must fight to restore his physical condition first.
However, the 34-year-old coach believes it won't take long for Boaz to return to the field because the former Persipura player has always worked hard in training to earn a place in the team.
"Boaz is a quality player, and I think everyone knows about him. But at the moment Boaz is not in good condition to play. He has to get his physical condition back first. But it won't take long," said Gomez.
Gomez also praised the performance of foreign midfielder from Argentina, Jonatan Bustos, who became a key figure when Borneo FC won over Persebaya.
Bustos provided two assists to Terens Puhiri and Guy Junior who helped Pesut Etam win 3-1 over Bajul Ijo.
Mario Gomez assesses Bustos appeared consistent throughout the game and gave what he had in the first game.
"Bustos' performance really satisfied me. He appeared consistent throughout the game. Bustos gave what he had for the first match," said Gomez.
In addition to praising Bustos' performance, Gomez also praised the Borneo FC players who, according to him, performed according to what he wanted.
He also praised the two goalscorers in the match against Persebaya, Muhammad Sihran and Terens Puhiri, who were considered to be working well on the wings.
"All the players played the way I wanted. Sihran and Terrens on the wings worked well," said Gomez.
Furthermore, Borneo FC is scheduled to play the second week of Liga 1 against Persik Kediri on Friday (10/9) at 18.15 WIB.
