Borneo FC coach considers Vs Persija the best match for his team in Group B
6/28/2022, 18:04SAMARINDA -- Borneo FC coach, Milomir Seslija, assessed that the match against Persija Jakarta, Saturday (25/6/2022), was the best match for the team nicknamed Pesut Etam in the preliminary round of Group B of the 2022 Presidential Cup. Moreover, the match was very exciting.
"We had made one mistake and as a result the opponent scored a goal, in a situation we were left behind we didn't just give up and finally turned things around. We dedicate this victory to the people of Samarinda," said the coach who is familiarly called Milo after the match.
Different conditions were experienced by Borneo FC when they were held to a 0-0 draw by Barito Putra. At that time Barito Putra piled up a lot of players in the defense and made it difficult for his players to create chances. Meanwhile, the match against Madura United, even though it ended in a 1-0 victory, according to Milo, the players still made a lot of mistakes.
Milo appreciates the hard work of his players who have appeared with high fighting spirit, until finally they were able to get three points and ensure one of the tickets to the semi-finals.
"We are grateful to be able to go through this crucial match with a positive result, although we are also affected by the incident of a number of injured players," said Milo.
The victory has led the club from Samarinda to lead the top of Group B with 7 points, and at the same time has ensured a ticket to qualify for the next round. The Borneo team still has one match against Rans Nusantara as the third place in Group B standings with 5 points.
For Borneo, the last match against Rans Nusantara did not affect the ticket to the semifinals, but Borneo had the opportunity to make sure the group B winner.
Meanwhile, for Rans Nusantara, the match against Borneo is a life and death match to fight for another ticket to the semifinals. If you lose, then the dream of the club owned by artist Raffi Ahmad will be dashed, because Rans lost to compete with Barito Putra who has pocketed 6 points.
"Against Rans, we did have problems with injured players, but we will still appear adamant to win," said Milo.
A similar statement was conveyed by Borneo FC player, Kei Hirose, who considered the victory against Persija a step to clear the winners of Group B. "We will fight hard in the last match because we want to win and can become group winners," said the Japanese player.
