Chelsea splashed the cash on another forward again this time in the form of PSV Eindhoven

Chelsea announced on their official website on Friday that the club has signed England U21 international winger Noni Madueke from PSV Eindhoven.

According to Chelsea's official statement, Madueke has signed on a long-term seven-and-a-half year deal which runs until the summer of June 2030. Both parties have the option to renew the contract for further year.

After completing his joining procedures, Madueke, who was interviewed by Chelsea's official website for the first time said: "I am very happy to sign with Chelsea, one of the best clubs in the world,"

"It's a dream for me and my family to come back to England and play in the Premier League, and I can't wait to start a new chapter in my career. My vision for the future, the owner's vision for the future, and to win with a club like this at the highest level makes me feels excited."

Madueke, who is only 20 years old, was born in Barnet. He is 1.76 meters tall, primarily plays as a winger, but can also be deployed as a "false nine", support striker or attacking midfielder. He has dual nationality of England and Nigeria. Madueka played for the Crystal Palace youth academy when he was young, moved to the Tottenham Hotspur youth academy in 2014, and later in 2018, and was signed by PSV Eindhoven to its youth academy after refusing to join the Manchester United youth academy.

Madueke started playing for PSV Eindhoven's reserve team in the summer of 2019, before making his first-team debut in January 2020.

In the summer of 2020, Madueke gradually became the main player of the Lampen's first-team. Along with Côte d'Ivoire international center forward, Sébastien Haller and Netherlands international winger Cody Gakpo, the trio were known as the PSV Eindhoven's "Attacking Tridents of African Descent".

Since his debut, Madueke has made 80 appearances across all competitions for the Eredivisie giants, scoring 20 goals and assisting 14 times.

In fact, before moving to Chelsea, there were rumours in recent years that Arsenal, Liverpool and AC Milan were all interested in signing Madueke. Not only that, even Spurs was also reported to be interested in buying back their self-produced youth academy trainee.

It is worth mentioning that with the arrival of Madueke, this means that there are now 18 strikers in the active Chelsea squad who seemed can't stop buying from left, right and center, excluding Romelu Lukaku, Callum Hudson-Odoi and Bryan Fiabema who are all out-on-loan at the moment, the Albanian international wonderlod Armando Broja, who was seriously injured, Jamaican international wonderkid Omari Hutchinson who was abandoned in the reserve team after poaching from Arsenal last summer, not to mentioned also RB Leipzig's France international Christopher Nkunku, who had been revealed to have reached a pre-contract agreement. This no doubt inevitably makes people wonder whether the Blues have actually correctly made any squad planning for their first-team.
