Chelsea wonderkid Armando Broja extends long-term deal with the club..

Chelsea announced on their official website last night that the club has completed a contract extension with Albania international center forward wonderkid Armando Broja.

According to Chelsea's official statement, Broja has signed a new six-year contract with the club which runs until the summer 2028.

Upon finalizing his contract extension procedures, Broja said that words cannot describe how excited he is to play for the club he has supported since childhood and he had dreamed of playing for one day.

He added that it is a dream come true and proud moment for himself and his family that he is being able to play for Chelsea's first team now.  Although there will be huge competition for the striker position in the team, he hopes he can do his part when he gets the chance and he will do everything in his power to help the club.

Broja, who will turn 21 next week, was born in Slough, England on September 10, 2001. He is 1.91 meters tall. Since his parents immigrated from Albania, Broja naturally has dual citizenship of England and Albania.

Broja briefly trained in the Tottenham Hotspur youth academy when he was 7 years old, and officially switched to the Chelsea youth academy two years later, where he has been playing ever since.

Broja was promoted to the first team in February 2020, and a month later, he made his first-team debut.

In August of the same year, Broja was loaned to Chelsea's Eredivisie sister club Vitesse Arnhem for one season. One month after joining, Broja scored the first ever first-team goal in his career. At the end of the season, he became Vitesse Arnhem's highest goalscorer of the season with 11 goals.

Last summer, Broja was loaned out again, this time to Southampton. In October of the same year, he scored in the league match against Leeds United, becoming the first Albanian scorer in the history of the Premier League.

Last season, Broja played 38 times in all competitions for Southampton during his loan period, scoring 9 goals and making 1 assist.

At the international level, Broja has been capped by the Albania senior national team since September 2020. So far, he has played 14 times for Albania in all competitions, scoring 4 goals and assisted twice.

It is worth mentioning that Broja has been pursued by West Ham United relentlessly this summer, and the Hammers has even made several offers to Chelsea, but all of them have been rejected.

This season, Broja has been arranged to stay in the Blues' first-team, and he has also made 4 appearances by coming on as a substitute in the new season.
