BARCELONA - There has been no significant progress in the condition of Barcelona midfielder Philippe Coutinho who is suffering from injury. Reporting from Marca, Tuesday (6/4), he will reportedly undergo another arthroscopy on his left knee in the coming days. He traveled to Brazil for several medical tests as his recovery did not match expectations.

Thus Coutinho is doubtful about being able to return to action for the rest of the season. The surgery will be carried out by the Brazilian national team doctor. The doctor will repair Coutinho's meniscus in his right leg. Right now, the former Liverpool player will really focus on restoring his condition to fit in time so he can appear in the Copa America this summer.

Barcelona have had to endure problems with some of their injured players. Talented young striker Ansu Fati is also injured and is expected to be out for the remainder of the season. Sergio Roberto, Gerard Pique are also struggling with injuries. However, both are expected to be ready to play in the El Clasico match against Real Madrid this weekend.

Coutinho has been struggling to find his best form since moving from Liverpool in 2018. He has struggled to find a place in the starting XI. As a result, Barcelona loaned him to Bayern Munich in 2019.
