Donnarumma's message after Milan's defeat from Inter
3/4/2021, 06:11 MILAN - AC Milan goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma reacted after his team's 0-3 defeat to Inter Milan in the 23rd weekend of the Serie A Italian League 2020/2021 at the Derby della Madoninna last weekend.
The Rossoneri's skyrocketed expectations seemed shattered after the Nerazzurri's humiliated three goals without reply. The result is Milan stuck in second place and four points adrift of Inter in the first seat.
Donnarumma who felt the disappointment of the tifosi tried to keep the players calm and think clearly for the rest of the season's journey.
"We know who we are and where we want to get it. Together, as usual, come to Milan," Donnarumma said via Twitter quoted by Football Italia, Tuesday (23/2).
The Milan players were seen silenced on social media after their derby defeat with Davide Calabria and Theo Hernandez being the only ones to share thoughts on Twitter and Instagram following the match.
The defeat clearly exacerbated the mentality of the team considering Stefano Pioli's fleet failed to secure a single win in the last three parties, two defeats and one draw.
Meanwhile, after the match versus Inter, the spotlight of Italian supporters and media was on captain Alessio Romagnoli. The player is claimed to have performed poorly and failed to guard the sharpness of striker Romelu Lukaku.
On the other hand, Donnarumma is still in talks with Milan to extend his contract which has expired. His agent, Mino Raiola, reportedly wants to include a 40 million euri clause in the 21-year-old portiere contract.
