12/22/2021, 08:07SURABAYA -- Chairman of the DPD RI AA La Nyalla Mahmud Mattalitti is optimistic that the Indonesian national team will be able to win the 2020 AFF Cup after ensuring that they qualify for the semifinals. The landslide victory of the Indonesian national team with a score of 4-1 over Malaysia on Sunday (19/12) night, proved that the squad could not be underestimated and became a threat.
"The national team's victory over Malaysia has become a strong energy in winning the 2020 AFF Cup. I am optimistic that the national team can bring the AFF Cup to Indonesia, for the first time," said La Nyalla on the sidelines of the recess activity in Surabaya, Monday (20/12).
According to La Nyalla, the victory over Malaysia also led Shin Tae-yong's team to win Group B and will face Singapore as the runner-up in Group A in the semifinals.
The former chairman of PSSI also invited all Indonesian people to give positive support in the next round. Although it is not easy, the senator from East Java believes that the Indonesian national team is able to face all obstacles.
"Let's support the Indonesian national team to give the best game and bring the trophy to the country. Although the struggle is not easy, the tough steps against Malaysia have been completed and are very positive energy," said LaNyalla.
La Nyalla also hopes that the players, coaches and officials will continue to focus on giving the best for the country. "The steps for the Indonesian national team to fly the red and white flag in the AFF Cup are just a matter of time. Stay focused and enthusiastic," he said.
