JAKARTA - Former Arsenal midfielder Ray Parlor has given advice to coach Mikel Arteta so that the Gunners can be more competitive for next season. In Parlor's perspective, there are three positions that Mikel Arteta's troops need the most for next season.

"I think they need another striker. I think they need another midfielder, besides Thomas Partey, who can be mobile there. And defensively you could argue that they need a right-back, because Hector Bellerin was talked about a possible move," Parlor told Talksport, Monday (19/7).

The Gunners management are working hard to secure new signings for manager Mikel Arteta ahead of the new season. They are being linked with Ruben Neves of Wolverhampton Wanderer. The signings of Nuno Tavares as a reserve left-back and Anderlecht midfielder Albert Sambi Lokonga have been completed.

Brighton defender Ben White is also reported to be arriving for a fee of £50 million.

"There's a lot of hard work to be done. It's not easy to find players (in this position) if you want to be successful," said Parlor.

Arsenal failed miserably last season. The Gunners only finished in eighth position in the final standings of the 2020/21 Premier League season. There is no European competition that Arsenal can participate in next season.
