Former Spanish international attacking midfielder David Silva has been fined for injuring a woman during a brawl along with his brother, Spanish online tabloid Tiempo de Canarias  reported on Thursday.

According to the reports, the incident occurred during a carnival in Masmapalos, a seaside resort in the Canary Islands, Spain, on June 19, 2021. At the time, Silva's younger brother, Fernando Antonio Jiménez Silva, and a third person were involved in a brawl on the spot, and the brothers both threw stones at a young man and threatened the other man with a knife. During the process, David tried to pull a young woman away, but the force he had exerted was so strong that the latter fell to the ground.

Afterwards, the female plaintiff claimed that she had suffered post-traumatic "neck pain, left elbow contusion, torn left finger torn, knee and leg muscle".

Since the Silva brothers voluntarily pleaded guilty, the district court directly imposed a fine of €1080 on Silva for intentionally causing body harm and ordered him to compensate the female plaintiff for civil damages of €520.

Silva, 36, played for Manchester City for 10 years between 2010 and 2020.

During his time at the Etihad Stadium, Silva won 4 Premier League titles, 5 League Cup, 2 FA Cup and 3 Community Shield for the club. He played 436 times, scored 77 goals and made 140 assists, making him a bonifide club legend for the Cityzens.

After his contract expired in the summer of 2020, Silva returned to Spain to join Real Sociedad as a free agent.

Since joining Los Txuri-Urdin, Silva has won 1 Copa del Rey for the La Liga powerhouse.
