Gareth Bale will continue his career in MLS
4/27/2022, 10:37JAKARTA -- Spanish League club Real Madrid striker Gareth Bale is reportedly set to continue his career in the American football league, MLS (Major League Soccer), if his contract with Los Blancos expires at the end of this season. According to Marca, Friday, Gareth Bale has been looking for a new port and one of the MLS contestants, DC United, is said to be interested in Bale.
DC United's interest has reached the stage of talks conducted by representatives of both parties some time ago. According to a report by Washington Post journalist Steven Goff, the two sides have been in communication since a month ago and began exchanging proposals. If he chooses to continue his career with DC United, Bale will follow in the footsteps of Wayne Rooney, who played for the club in 2018.
During one year defending DC United, Rooney recorded 52 appearances by contributing 25 goals and 14 assists from 4,397 minutes played in various competitions. This prompted DC United to bring back experienced players from Europe and Bale was seen as a suitable figure.
The 32-year-old started his career in the Southampton youth team before deciding to join Tottenham Hotspur in 2007. After six years of a good career with Tottenham, Bale moved to Real Madrid in the summer of 2013 for a transfer fee of IDR 1.4 trillion.
During his time with Madrid, the Welshman played in 258 games and contributed 106 goals and 67 assists for Los Blancos. He also won four Champions League titles, two La Liga and three Spanish Cups.
