Girona bolster relegation fight hopes by completing the signing of former Ukrainian wonderkid international winger Viktor Tsygankov from Dynamo Kyiv..

Girona announced on their official website on Tuesday that the club has signed former Ukrainian wonderkid international winger Viktor Tsygankov from Dynamo Kyiv.

According to Girona's official statement, Tsygankov has signed on a long-term four-and-a-half-year deal which runs until the summer of 2027 with the club.

After completing his joining procedures, Tsygankov wrote on his personal Instagram social account that: "Hello! I hope everyone has a fine day. I am also doing well, everything is going well. But what I'm going to say next, you might feel very sad."

"The moment has come when I have to speak to you guys a little differently, but I hope you will always fondly remember the fond memories we have created together."

"Dynamo Kyiv and Girona have reached an agreement during this winter transfer window, and I will go to play in Spain. Words cannot express my love and respect for this club that has raised me since I was a child. I am grateful, without the help of the club, I would not be able to achieve what I am today, for which I have to say thank you to everyone in the club, including everyone during my youth academy days."

"I will never forget those of you who insisted on sending me and Dynamo Kyiv some supplies from Bulgaria, Serbia, Greece and other places despite knowing there were thousands of people dying in the war almost every day."

"With that same heart, I will look back on the memories of us winng titles in the past, played in European competitions, cheered for the happy moments, and those dejected moments of the sad ones, I will start a new chapter by working hard at Girona as always.”

"Although my story with the club has come to an end, I will always be the lad who secretly cheers for Dynamo Kyiv in another corner of the world. Thank you for your support, love you all."

The 25-year-old Tsygankov was born in Nahariya, Israel on November 15, 1997. He is 1.78 meters tall. He primarily plays as a winger, but he can also be deployed as an attacking midfielder. He has dual citizenship of Israel and Ukraine. His father Vitaliy is a former professional goalkeeper who used to play in Israel.

Tsygankov, who moved back to Ukraine when he was still young, joined the Dynamo Kyiv youth academy in 2011 and completed his first-team debut in August 2016.

Since his debut, Tsygankov has been hailed as a new generation Ukrainian wonderkid with his extraordinary talents. He can't stop scoring goals and has won 1 Ukrainian Premier League, 2 Ukrainian Cups and 3 Ukrainian Super Cups with the club. He was also honuored as the Ukrainian Footballer of the Year in 2018, and was even involved in transfer rumours with Premier League clubs such as Liverpool and West Ham.

This season, Tsygankov has made 23 appearances in all competitions for Dynamo Kyiv, scoring 9 goals and assisting 6 times.

Girona, whose form has been inconsistent this season, has achieved 5 wins, 6 draws and 6 losses so far, and ranked 11th in the La Liga table with 21 points, but only 5 points away from the relegation zone, so to be able to bring in a star like Tsygankov to help out in their relegation battle will be a massive boost for the club.
