MILAN -- AC Milan striker Olivier Giroud has returned to training with the team. He is expected to be in the squad against Spezia this weekend although he may first sit on the bench, reported by Football Italia , Thursday (23/9).

The Rossoneri have had to overcome the problem of the absences of Giroud and Zlatan Ibrahimovic in recent weeks. So far, the Rossoneri have been quite successful.

Giroud is claimed to be on the bench against Spezia. The France international has played three games for Milan and scored two goals. Giroud struggling to recover from injury.

But good news has come regarding the progression of his injury. He will rejoin the team in the coming days. If not ready to play against Spezia, the former Arsenal and Chelsea player is probably ready to play against Atletico Madrid in the Champions League.

The Rossoneri started the season quite well, being unbeaten in five Serie A matches. Most recently, they won over Venezia 2-0. Stefano Pioli's troops now occupy second place in the standings with the same value as Inter Milan at the top.
