Haller returns to training at Ajax, ready for comeback

Sebastien Haller has returned to training three months after undergoing chemotherapy for a malignant testicular tumor diagnosed.

Haller, who scored 34 goals and provided 9 assists for Ajax last season, is seen as a key player for the club to win the Eredivisie title. In July of this year, he transferred from Ajax to Dortmund for a price of 31 million euros. He was diagnosed with a testicular tumor in the same month and has been sidelined since then. Halle last played on June 3 this year, when Ivory Coast thrashed Zambia 3-1 in the African Cup of Nations.

Haller was spotted returning to training with former club Ajax on Tuesday. At the pre-match press conference against Liverpool in the Champions League, Ajax coach Alfred Schreuder revealed that Haller would stay at Ajax for recovery training. "Sebastien (Haller) asked us to allow him to train here for a while because he is recuperating in Amsterdam."

"It's great for him to be here for a while," Schreuder said happily. "It's good for his former teammates to see Haller sick again. When Ajax players step on the field, Haller is also on the other side. He will continue to play at Ajax. Kers is committed to his recovery efforts."

Haller is recovering well, but its specific recovery time is still debatable. He will still be training at Ajax next to prepare for his comeback.
