Ibrahimovic Makes Sure to Stay in Milan Until You Turn 40 Years Old
5/1/2021, 15:42MILAN - Zlatan Ibrahimovic has officially extended his contract with AC Milan until 2022. That means, the Swedish passport striker will wear the Rossoneri uniform until he turns 40 years old.
Ibrahimovic is now 39 years old. He stated, Milan is a city that has been considered as home. Even though he is considered old as a footballer, he admits that he still feels young. "This will be a positive thing, although people doubted before I arrived here. I have proven that age is not a problem," Ibrahimovic said as quoted by Football Italia, Saturday (24/4).
Ibrahimovic, who had struggled with injuries in the 2019/20 season, has now contributed to scoring 15 goals in 17 matches in all competitions. He wants to return to play when facing Lazio, next Monday.
"It's about mentality. I always want to develop and do my best. I want to be maximal in the physical aspect of doing the activities that I do," he said.
The karate black belt holder feels at home with Stefano Piis' leadership as the Rossoneri coach. He felt motivated while under Pioli's control.
"I want to help everyone, this is also motivation. There is an adrenaline rush I feel when I meet young players," he said.
"All the players want to show their best. They make sacrifices so we are at this point."
