Inter do not rule out signings for Bellerin and Telles
7/19/2021, 14:12MILAN -- Inter Milan's executive director, Beppe Marotta, admitted that La Beneamata did not completely rule out the possibility of signing two full-backs at once. Previously, it was widely reported that the Nerazzurri were trying to bring in Hector Bellerin and Alex Telles.
The two players are projected to be replacements for Achraf Hakimi and Ashley Young. Hakimi was released by Inter Milan to Paris Saint Germain (PSG) with a reported transfer value of 60 million euros, while Young decided to return to England and strengthen Aston Villa after refusing a contract extension from La Beneamata.
Inter Milan is also reportedly hunting for a new winger. Bellerin, who is reportedly ready to be released by Arsenal, will be plotted as Hakimi's replacement. Meanwhile, Telles, who plays as a back-up at United's left-back position, is expected to replace Young.
Marotta also admitted, Inter continue to monitor Bellerin's situation with Arsenal. However, the former Juventus sporting director was reluctant to discuss further about a possible move for the Spanish full-back.
“Bellerin is one of the players we are closely monitoring. However, I cannot reveal further, because that would show disrespect to other clubs," Marotta said as quoted by Eurosport , Sunday (18/7).
"I'm not saying not completely. In football, anything is possible. At the moment, we are evaluating all the opportunities that exist in the transfer window," said Marotta.
However, Inter Milan reportedly does not have many options regarding the signing of new players in the next summer transfer window. The financial crisis that has hit Inter Milan's owner, Suning Group, has left La Beneamata only the option of loaning out players, instead of signing them permanently in this summer's transfer window.
