Inter striker Lautaro Martinez is looking to end his career by helping his side to their fourth Champions League title against Manchester City on Saturday, matching his triumph with Argentina at the World Cup Best season ever.


Martinez said he has overcome the injury issues that have plagued him during a long season and is looking forward to completing a dream season.

" I feel the same as the World Cup final, just with a different jersey, " Martinez told a news conference on Friday.

" These are the most important games in football and all the players want to play. The feeling is the same and we are ready to play the games we have to play.

After a difficult start, Martinez has gone 10 consecutive games without a goal and has scored 11 goals in his last 13 games , including a semi-final second leg against cross-city rivals AC Milan.

Inter Milan is in good form and has won 11 of the past 12 games in all competitions . Despite being on the back foot against Treble winners City, Martinez is confident he and his team-mates can make an upset.

" We know Manchester City are very tough opponents because of their quality. But we've done our job and we're ready for the task, " Martinez said.

" This is the best year of my career. Six months ago I had the opportunity to play in the World Cup final and now I will play in the Champions League final.

" I'm very happy with the season and with this moment in our lives, let's see if we can win the title in the best possible way. "
