Jack Grealish admits life in the city is harder than he thinks
12/27/2021, 02:43MANCHESTER -- Jack Grealish admits that his life at Manchester City is more difficult than he thought. This happened after Pep Guardiola warned the former Aston Villa player could ask for a transfer to Barcelona.
While Grealish insists he has a lot to give to City, after a difficult start at the Etihad. The England international has become the most expensive player in the Premier League, having bought City for 100 million from Aston Villa last summer.
There are high expectations from Grealish, who has been at the Villa for 20 years. But the 26-year-old has scored just two goals in 15 games. He was not even played by Guardiola when City faced Newcastle, because of his behavior off the pitch.
“It's much more difficult than I thought. I'm still learning and adapting. I hear some people take a year to adapt here. So maybe it will be the same for me,'' Grealish said, quoted from Express, Sunday (26/12).
Grealish insists he is determined to score more goals next year. He admitted, the tag of 100 million pounds could be a burden in itself when going through difficult times. Because many people will think whether the price is commensurate with his appearance on the field.
"Where's the goal, where's the assist? I understand that. But I have to see it as a privilege that the club wants to spend a lot of money on me and I hope to repay that with goals and trophies."
