Jurgen Klopp admits Liverpool aren't good enough to qualify for Champions League

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has accepted his squad is not enough to qualify for this season's Champions League (UCL).

The 1-1 draw with Aston Villa at home not only ended the nine-game winning streak, but also further ended the hope of the top four in the group.

They need to win their last game at Southampton and rely on Newcastle or United not taking another point from their remaining two games, something Klopp admits won't happen.

"I think the quality of play throughout the season is just for us to qualify for the Europa League, not the Champions League," he said.

"We haven't been able to play a good game to improve the position of the team."

"The first half of the game was a bit disappointing. We were too hasty in possession and vice versa.

"They ( Billa ) have some minutes in the game and they are a good football team.

"In the second half it was clear we had to calm down and take our time to make the right decisions and that's what we did and then you could see until the end of the game."
