Jürgen Klopp reiterates the club is not

Liverpool head coach Jürgen Klopp has asked everyone not to have too high expectations upon further new signings in a humorous way when he attended the club's pre-match press conference against Brentford in the matchday 19 of the Premier League on Monday morning local time.

Klopp made the above response when asked by reporters whether it would be possible that the club would continue to see the arrival of other players such as Benfica's Enzo Fernández after the signing of Cody Gakpo.

He said that having been in the position for many years, every time the transfer window opens, it has never been a situation where you can spend as much as you want like playing Monopoly.

He reiterated that in many cases, the club must consider many factors, including financial resources, timing, tactics and etc., as well as his philosophy has always been to advocate as much as possible to make progress and succeed with the original players that he had already inherited in the team who have established a good understanding.

Jürgen Klopp jokingly said: "We talk about these things as if it's 'who cares', money doesn't play a big role. But it's never like you just spend money."

"I don't want to disappoint anyone, but we've signed a good player like Cody Gakpo, and then you're asked, 'Who's next? "

"Honestly, it's like we've got nobody in the team. We can't act like playing Monopoly. That's always been our strategy, we've never done that, so I don't know about that approach."

"Of course, we can't just spend money, and surprisingly, we've never been able to, we've always sorted out our situation before we can plan."

Klopp's remarks also confirmed that the previous report made by Sky Sport's renowned Italian transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano, which pointed out that sources had revaled that Liverpool do not plan to made an offer for Fernández to Benfica.

Romano revealed on Thursday that as the club is fully preparing to sign Borussia Dortmund's England international midfielder wonderkid Jude Bellingham during the summer transfer window next season, they did not not dare to compete for the signature of Fernández, who has a release clause of €120 million euros in his contract, to the Portuguese Primeira Liga leaders at the same time for fear of being investigated by UEFA for alleged violations of Financial Fair Play (FFP) regulations.

Although there were previous rumours that Liverpool wanted to sign Fernández at the same time, considering that they have spent £150 million on signings this season, it makes sense for the Premier League giants' plan to change.

It is an open secret in the industry that Liverpool is determined to win Bellingham. The Reds is also preparing to offer £150 million to the Bundesliga giants, and the former Birmingham City youth academy graduate has also been rumoured many times that he only wanted to transfer to Liverpool.
