LONDON - Frank Lampard has named Barcelona legends Ronaldinho and Lionel Messi as two of the best players he has ever played against. The Chelsea legend admitted that it was difficult to leave the name Cristiano Ronaldo, but he felt he had never faced a position with the Portugal international.
Although Lampard faced Ronaldo-inspired Manchester United in the 2008 Champions League final. Both scored goals for their teams during a rainy match in Moscow.
But Lampard believes, the peak of the meeting actually occurred when CR7 left Old Trafford, and joined Real Madrid in 2009. That means placing Messi and Ronaldinho at the top of Lampard's list.
'' There are two that I have to say, one is Lionel Messi, because he's the best, '' said Lampard, quoted by the Mirror, Friday (24/9).
Lampard feels never really against Ronaldo. Unlike Messi, Barca and Chelsea often meet, Lampard admits he can hardly approach him. While Ronaldinho, he faced in 2005 on a visit to Camp Nou. He was amazed by Ronaldinho's movements, which were very different, like creatures from other planets.
As for the best players who played with him, Lampard was confused to choose between John Terry or Didier Drogba. "I can't separate them, because they have so much role in us as a team," he said.
