Leeds United coach Marsch sacked due to poor record

Jesse Marsch was finally sacked as manager the day after Leeds United lost 1-0 to Nottingham Forest. His team was also fired, including Rene Maric, Cameron Toshac and Pierre Barrieu.

"We thank Jesse and his staff behind the scenes for their efforts and wish them all the best for the future," the club said in a statement.

Marsch is 49 years old this year and served as the coach of RB Salzburg and RB Leipzig from 2019 to 2021. He replaced Bielsa to coach Leeds United in February last year and led the team to complete the goal of relegation within half a year.

Although Leeds United spent 160 million pounds on signings this season, they have never been able to perform to their due level. So far, Leeds United has only recorded 4 wins after 20 games, and currently ranks 17th with 18 points. The last time they won the Premier League was in early November last year.

Marsch's contract with Leeds United was originally scheduled to expire in June 2025, but the team's seven consecutive victories made him completely lose the trust of the top management.

Leeds United's new coach is currently undecided. The club announced that they have started the coach selection process, and the team's daily work is temporarily in charge of Michael Skubala, Paco Gallardo and Chris Armas.
