Leonardo: Neymar, Mbappe and Messi lack support from PSG
9/6/2023, 03:49Leonardo, the former sporting director of Paris Saint-Germain , admitted that Messi, Neymar and Mbappe lacked the support and recognition of the club and failed to create a winning environment when they played for the club.
In the first two seasons, the cooperation of Messi, Neymar and Mbappe helped Paris Saint-Germain win the Ligue 1 championship in two seasons, but was unable to win the Champions League championship. However, Messi left as a free agent this summer and went to Inter Miami.
Neymar also left Paris Saint-Germain, joining Saudi club Al Hilal for €90 million. Only Mbappe is left. He had already told the club earlier that he did not intend to renew his contract and would only run it until the end of this season.
Messi has found it difficult to adjust to life in Paris since his move from Barcelona, admitting it was difficult during his two seasons at PSG, which has created a rift with PSG fans . PSG have been eliminated from the Champions League over the past two years, with fans blaming Messi and Neymar, booing and jeering at them.
In a recent interview with Brazilian media, Leonardo said: "People need to feel comfortable. These players need to be in a good mental state, they need to be supported, and they need to be recognized. The people who do this are the clubs, Us and the coach.”
"These talented guys are not complicated. They solve more problems than they create, and if their problems are solved in a way that's done. They also have to put themselves in a position to achieve victory."
