Gabriel's own goal left Arsenal behind.

SOUTHAMPTON - Southampton took the lead at home to Arsenal in the fourth round of the FAdi St. Cup. Mary's Stadium, Saturday (23/1) evening WIB. Gabriel's own goal gave Southampton 1-0 lead over Arsenal.

Southampton, who acted as the host, did not hesitate to initiate attacks on Arsenal's defense. They got the first free kick in the second minute when Gabriel violated Ings.

Ward-Prowse who took over the set-piece shot immediately directed the pass past the Arsenal defender. However, Bern Leno's attempt was thwarted which resulted in a corner for the hosts.

From a corner, Ward-prowse curled a shot which was aimed straight at the goal. However, Leno managed to knock it out of the field and produced another corner.

Southampton got another chance in the 14th minute when Adams got past two Arsenal defenders. However, Leno managed to anticipate the direction of Adams' final touch and brushed it off.

Southampton continued to press Arsenal's defense until they finally managed to make the difference in the 24th minute. The home side took the lead after a Walker-Peters shot that darted between Cedric's legs hit Gabriel's leg and changed direction towards goal, which Leno couldn't anticipate.

Southampton were also 1-0 ahead of Arsenal. And Gabriel became the first Arsenal player to score an own goal in the FA Cup since Southampton midfielder Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain against Sunderland in February 2012.

It was also the first ever Arsenal goal to concede since Tammy Abraham's goal for Chelsea on Boxing Day, ending the Gunners' 508 minutes goalless.

In the 31st minute, Forster and the Southampton defenders did a sloppy thing at the back which forced Forster to tuck the ball away from an advancing Nketiah for a shot on goal.

Arsenal had another chance in the 36th minute when Pepe took the ball from Nketiah's cross and fired a straight shot at goal, but the ball stopped when it hit Stephens' body.

Two minutes later Southampton returned to trouble Arsenal's defense. They seemed more and more convinced by controlling the match. Until the 43rd minute, Ward-Prowse's direct kick almost added to the advantage. The first half ended 1-0 for Southampton.
