Liverpool announced on the official website on Thursday that the club has completed the contract extension with the Spanish U18 international defensive midfielder Stefan Bajčetić.


According to Liverpool's official statement, Bajčetić has agreed to a long-term new four-and-a-half-year extension with the club which will now see his contract runs until the summer of 2027.


After completing his contract renewal procedures, Bajčetić, who was interviewed by Liverpool's official website again said: "Obviously, I am very, very happy, very excited to continue to play for this club and hope that I can be playing here with everyone for more years to come. My family and I are very proud to sign a new contract with this club."

Bajčetić, who is only 18 years old, was born in Vigo, Spain on October 22, 2004. He is 1.85 meters tall, primarily plays as defensive midfielder but can also be deployed as a center-back. His father Srđan is formerly the foreign player of Dalian Shide and Hunan Shoking, who is currently the head coach of Celta Vigo youth academy, and his brother Jovan is also a member of the Celta Vigo reserve team. Like his elder brother, the little Bajčetić also has dual citizenship of Spain and Serbia.


Coincidentally, Bajčetić himself joined Celta Vigo youth academy when he was a child because his father was playing for the club in the early years, and was later spotted by Liverpool youth academy director Alex Inglethorpe, and after successfully be persuaded, agreed to join the Reds at the end of December 2020 for €250,000.
