MERSEYSIDE -- Liverpool reportedly have no plans to pursue Chelsea striker Christian Pulisic this summer. The United States international made just 13 starts in the Premier League last season.

Pulisic is expected to head for Chelsea's exit in the next few weeks. Pulisic's contract at Stamford Bridge will expire in the summer of 2024. However, he finds it difficult to compete with Timo Werner, Mason Mount and Kai Havertz up front for Chelsea.

Liverpool are rumored to be keeping an eye on Pulisic's development amid the departures of Sadio Mane and Divock Origi. But CBS Sports journalist Ben Jacobs claims Liverpool are currently not interested in signing Pulisic, who has also been linked with AC Milan and Juventus.

Liverpool have received new attacking ammunition from Benfica, namely Darwin Nunez and Fabio Carvalho. According to Jacobs, Liverpool are still open to bringing in a new striker.

Pulisic scored eight goals and provided five assists in 38 appearances for Chelsea last season in all competitions. In total he scored 25 goals and 18 assists in 114 games. Since arriving at Chelsea three and a half years ago, Pulisic has won the Champions League, Club World Cup and European Super Cup.

As for Liverpool, they had to give up their valuable asset, Sadio Mane moved closer to Bayern Munich. Liverpool will receive an upfront payment of £27.5m which could add up to £35m.

Mane left Anfield with a record 120 goals and 48 assists in 269 games in all competitions. Mane became an important player when Liverpool won the Premier League trophy and the Champions League.

"After every game I played in Munich, I would come to the dressing room and I would watch Liverpool, for sure, because I will be Liverpool's number 1 fan forever," said Mane .

The Senegal international felt something strange after not wearing a Liverpool uniform. But he said he was happy during his six years at Anfield. He enjoys playing with coaches, players and fans.
