JAKARTA -- Romelu Lukaku flew to London, England, to complete the transfer of £97.5 million. He will move to Chelsea from Inter Milan.

The 28-year-old has already undergone the first part of his medical in the City of Milan. Lukaku is expected to sign a five-year contract, worth £200,000-a-week.

Inter have previously rejected two offers from Chelsea for the Belgium international, the second worth £85m plus left-back Marcos Alonso.

Lukaku left Chelsea in 2014 after only 15 appearances there. He came to Stamford Bridge from Anderlecht in 2011.

But then Lukaku became one of the most prolific strikers in Europe. He scored 87 goals in 166 games for Everton between 2014 and 2017 and scored 42 goals in 96 appearances during his two years at Manchester United, before joining Inter in 2019.

With Inter, Lukaku scored 24 goals in Serie A last season, helping Inter to a first Scudetto in 11 years, as the club ended Juventus' nine-year dominance in Serie A.

Chelsea will be interested in finalizing the deal before 11pm on Tuesday (10/8), so the player can be registered with UEFA for consideration for the European Super Cup against Villarreal on Wednesday (11/8).

When the deal is completed, it will make Lukaku the most expensive player in history in terms of combined transfer fees. He costs 308.5 million pounds or around 30 million pounds, more than Neymar in second place with 271.7 million pounds.
