LIVERPOOL -- Liverpool legend Michael Owen expects Liverpool's Mohamed Salah to sign a new contract this summer. Mo Salah still has a contract until the summer of 2023.

This one year remaining contract could increase the prospect of Mo Salah leaving Liverpool as a free transfer player. Of course Liverpool must secure or even release Mo Salah at the end of this summer.

"I would be very surprised if Mo Salah didn't sign for Liverpool. What are his options at the moment?" Owen said quoted from the Tribal Football page.

Liverpool are currently in the race to overtake Manchester City in the remaining Premier League matches. According to Owen, no club deserves to be Mo Salah's port other than Liverpool.

"You will only go to Manchester City or go down to another team because there is no other club as good as these two teams in the world," said Owen.

Owen is aware that Mo Salah has some considerations for his future. Although not forcing, Owen still asked Mo Salah to stay with Liverpool.

"It's about one of the biggest clubs in the world and one of the biggest players in the world and that player is about to sign the biggest contract of his life," Owen said.
