MU sucks, doesn't know how to optimize Van de Beek
10/5/2021, 22:14 MANCHESTER - With a reported transfer value of 35 million pounds, Donny Van de Beek was brought by Manchester United (MU) from Ajax Amsterdam at the start of last season.
However, the 24-year-old midfielder turned out to be just a bench warmer for the Red Devils. Of the 10 matches that United have played in all competitions at the start of this season, Van de Beek has only appeared in three games.
This condition has not changed too much compared to last season when Van de Beek made his debut with Manchester United. Van de Beek only appeared as a starter in four of the 34 occasions he played in the Premier League stage last season.
United coach, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, often rotates and field Nemanja Matic, Fred, or Scot McTominay to fill a place in the Red Devils' midfield. This condition has an impact on the continuation of Van de Beek's work at MU.
The dropout from the Ajax Amsterdam football academy is reportedly not at home strengthening the Red Devils. Various gestures indicating disappointment were shown by Van de Beek while sitting on the MU bench in the match against Everton last weekend.
Van de Beek can be seen throwing vests, spitting gum, and shaking his head. This is considered an expression of Van de Beek's frustration because he rarely gets a chance to play.
In fact, while strengthening Ajax Amsterdam, Van de Beek was considered one of the young players with great potential. Together with Frenkie de Jong, Matthjis de Ligt, and Dusan Tadic, Van de Beek managed to bring De Godenzonen to the semifinals of the 2018/2019 Champions League season.
However, Manchester United, under Solskjaer's control, is considered unable to maximize Van de Beek's ability. "He (Van de Beek) with De Jong and De Ligt was outstanding in the Champions League."
"In my opinion, Manchester United signed Van de Beek without knowing how to maximize his potential," wrote former Liverpool midfielder Don Hutchinson on his social media account as reported by the Daily Star, Monday (4/10).
MU's rash move in bringing in Van de Beek was inseparable from the laziness of United's coaching and scouting team. ''When signing Van de Beek, the scouting team and lazy management might think, 'Oh he's a good player, let's go get him','' continued the Reds midfielder in the 90s era.
