Napoli renews contract with Kosovo international center-back Amir Rrahmani..

Napoli announced on their official website on Friday that the club has renewed the contract of Kosovo international center-back Amir Rrahmani.

According to Napoli's official statement, Rrahmani has signed on a new long-term four-year deal with the club which will run until the summer of 2027, with an option to extend for a further year.

The 29-year-old Rrahmani was born in Pristina, Kosovo on February 24, 1994. He is 1.92 meters tall and plays as a center-back. He has dual citizenship of Kosovo and Albania.

Rahmani joined the Drenica youth academy since he was a child, and made his first-team debut at the end of March 2011, helping the club successfully avoid relegation.

After his contract expired in the summer of 2013, Rrahmani moved to the Partizani Tirana on a free transfer and won the 2015 Albanian Super League Young Player of the Year Award for his outstanding performances.

After his contract expired in the summer of 2015, Rahmani moved to Split as a free agent, and then joined Dinamo Zagreb for €1.6 million the following year following his outstanding performances.

During his two-year spell with the latter, Rrahmani successfully led the club to win two consecutive Croatian First Division league championships and became one of the most eye-catching young defenders in European football.

In July 2019, Rrahmani joined Heras Verona for €2 million. However, halfway through the season, at the end of January of the following year, Napoli signed the scintillating Rrahmani for €14 million, but he was first loaned-back to Hellas Verona to complete the season.

After returning to the club following his loan, Rrahmani, who successfully helped Hellas Verona to finish in a mid-table position, quickly established himself as the main player in Napoli's first-team.

So far this season, Rrahmani has played 34 times for I Partenopei in all competitions, scoring 2 goals and 1 assist, leading the club to win Serie A after 33 years.
