Official: Napoli renews contracts with Meret and Zerbin

After 11 match days, Napoli reached a contract extension with goalkeeper Alex Meret and winger Alessio Zerbin, and the team's contract renewal work is far from over.


Alex Meret's current contract with Napoli was due to expire in 2023. After the extension, his contract will be extended until June 2024, with a one-year extension option. His annual salary has also risen from 1 million euros to around 1.5 million euros, with bonuses ranging in size.

Meret, 23, came out of Udinese's youth academy and joined Napoli on loan from Udinese in July 2018. On July 1, 2019, Meret was officially bought out by Napoli for 26 million euros and had since become Ospina's backup goalkeeper.
