OFFICIAL: Vallecano captain Trejo extends contract until 2024

La Liga Vallecano announced on the 6th that it has renewed its 34-year-old captain Oscar Trejo until 2024.

Oscar Trejo is the main midfielder and comes from Boca's youth training. On April 8, 2007, he made his La Liga debut on behalf of Mallorca as a starter, scoring a goal in the face of Getafe.

In August 2010, Trejo was loaned to Vallecano and played 41 times for the team in more than 9 months, scoring 10 goals. After the loan period expired, the Argentine was sold to Sporting Gijon by Mallorca, and then to Toulouse.

In July 2017, Vallecano signed Trejo, who became a free agent, and the Argentine helped Vallecano to be promoted from the middle of the second division to La Liga after a season with 12 goals and 5 assists. In the following 4 years, Trejo played 156 times for Vallecano in various competitions and has so far recorded 16 goals and 17 assists.

After renewing his contract with Vallecano, Trejo expressed his joy in public. "I'm very happy, I've said it so many times that my renewal is just one conversation," he said. "Vallecano means a lot to me."

"I've had my ups and downs, but that's life. I'm very excited to be back in 2017," Trejo admitted. "In Vallecano, they will love you for what you give, not for the result. I hope we can continue to bring change to the fans. Effort and humility are the great virtues of our team."
