Pelicans sign McCollum to 2-year, $64 million extension

According to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski, the New Orleans Pelicans will renew their star CJ McCollum in a two-year, $64 million contract.

McCollum's contract with the Pelicans is set to expire in 2024. After the extension, his contract will be extended until 2026, with a total value of 133 million US dollars. Christian Clark, a team reporter for the local daily "The Times-Picayune", confirmed in the article that McCollum's contract does not have any player or team options.

McCollum, 31, spent the first nine years of his career with the Blazers before being traded to New Orleans last season. During his time with the Pelicans, he averaged 24.3 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 5.8 assists per game, and played a huge role in the Partridges advancing to the Western Conference playoffs after 4 years.

According to ESPN statistics, CJ McCollum is one of only six players who can average more than 20 points per game in the past seven seasons. The other five are Davis, DeRozan, LeBron, Paul George, and Harden.
