Persib Reveals Ardi Idrus Refuses Contract Extension and Chooses to Leave Bandung
4/15/2022, 00:33BANDUNG -- Persib Bandung officially released Ardi Idrus on Wednesday (13/4/2022). Ardi became the ninth player released by Persib.
Director of PT Persib Bandung with dignity, Teddy Tjahjono, admitted that Ardi was included in a player whose contract expired at the end of last season. Unfortunately, Persib could not stop Ardi from leaving.
"Adi's contract expires on March 31, 2022 and a contract extension has been offered, but he has chosen to have a career at another club," said Teddy, Wednesday (13/4/2022).
Ardi has so far become a core player who left the club. As Persib's mainstay player, Teddy avoided Ardi's departure because he was not in harmony with Persib's coach, Robert Rene Alberts. "That's not true," Teddy replied curtly.
Teddy made sure Ardi was included in the coach's recommendation. Asked about the negotiations, Teddy said that the management had tried their best to keep Ardi, including increasing the value of his contract.
"We have tried our best, but the person concerned chose another path," said Teddy.
Ardi Idrus joined Persib in 2018 through selection when the team was led by Mario Gomez. Since then Ardi has dominated the left-back position and played 102 games in all competitions and provided five assists.
