Persuade of Mourinho able to quell Dybala's lust for high salary
2022-07-20 04:07ROME - Former Juventus striker, Paulo Dybala, has reportedly accepted AS Roma's proposal. The attacker nicknamed La Joya is said to have undergone medical tests. The recruitment of the Argentine striker is just waiting for the official announcement from I Giallorossi.
Dybala flew to Portugal, to be precise in the Algarve, to undergo a medical test. Currently, the AS Roma main team is undergoing a training camp in Portugal in preparation for next season. Now, Dybala just has to sign a contract with AS Roma followed by an official announcement from the club from the Italian capital.
''Everything went smoothly. I am very happy. Is AS Roma a good and proper team? Yes,'' Dybala told Sky Italia after undergoing a medical test in Portugal, Tuesday (19/7/2022).
The process of recruiting Dybala by the management of I Giallorossi felt so smooth. Negotiations between representatives of Roma and Dybala's agent, Jorge Antun, on Sunday (17/7/2022) local time ended positively for I Giallorossi. The 28-year-old striker immediately welcomed the offer.
The former Palermo striker was also willing to get a lower salary than in his last contract with Juventus. Currently, the 28-year-old striker has the status of //free agent// or a player without a club after failing to reach an agreement on a contract extension with I Bianconeri.
"Agreeing to accept the offer of a three-year contract from Roma, Dybala will earn a salary of 4.5 to five million euros per season. If that includes bonuses, then Dybala will receive a fee of six million euros per season from Roma,'' wrote the Corriere dello Sports report, Tuesday (19/7/2022).
The annual salary that Dybala receives from Roma is two times lower than when he was still playing for I Bianconeri. In his last contract with Juventus, the Argentine national team striker is known to earn a yearly fee of 13.6 million euros.
This salary issue is also suspected of making the contract agreement between Dybala and Juventus fall out. The left-handed striker is said to be furious with Juventus' management for refusing to increase his salary in a new contract scheme.
Officially a free agent starting on June 30, 2022 ago, Dybala actually had entered the radar of a number of top European clubs. Inter Milan is one of the clubs most widely used to become Dybala's new port next season. The negotiations between Jorge Antun and the management of I Nerazzurri were reportedly held several times.
However, the two sides never reached an agreement. The Nerazzurri also began to close the opportunity to sign Dybala after completing the loan process for Romelu Lukaku from Chelsea. The Nerazzurri's management seems to have been satisfied with Lukaku's presence to add player options in attack. In addition to Inter Milan, Napoli was reportedly ready to accommodate Dybala. However, negotiations between Napoli's management and Dybala's representatives never lasted long and failed to reach an agreement.
At this moment, the AS Roma coach, Jose Mourinho, stepped in and immediately approached Dybala to join the Olympico.
