SLEMAN -- Philippines U-16 national team coach Christopher Pedimonte said Indonesia's quick goal at the meeting of the two teams in the AFF U-162022 A Cup Group, Sunday (31/7), changed the direction of the match. Indonesia won 2-0 in this match.

The Philippines controlled the match from the start, but Indonesia, who relied on the counter-attack, stole a goal in the fourth minute. The goal was created by the suicide of the captain who is also the Philippines midfielder Jared Pena. Jared wrongly anticipated the cross of Indonesian striker Arkhan Kaka.

After that, Indonesia turned to dominate the match and finally doubled the position in the 38th minute through Arkhan Kaka's goal which made the Philippines fall 0-2.

According to Christopher, Indonesia performed very well in that match. All Garuda Asia players are considered to have good performance.

"All the Indonesian players showed their class today. They played fantastic football in front of their fans. We actually could have played better in the second half and could have created some chances. Indonesia are a strong team and we expected them to put pressure on us. I think we anticipated it well and kept Indonesia from scoring more goals," said Christopher.
