MERSEYSIDE -- Liverpool are not expected to change their squad for the Merseyside derby against struggling Everton at Goodison Park, Thursday (2/12). A 4-0 win over Southampton maintained the Reds' title push ahead of a visit to their neighbours.

The derby came too soon for Curtis Jones (who has an eye injury), Roberto Firmino (thigh), Joe Gomez (calf) and Naby Keita (thigh), plus Harvey Elliott (ankle), but Jurgen Klopp notes that the stars who recovering everyone has made good progress in a few days.

"Everyone went through (the Southampton game) well, as far as I know. The boys are getting closer, everyone is getting closer," said Liverpool coach Klopp as quoted by the Manchester Evening News , Wednesday (1/12).

"I think especially Joe is not too far from team training, Naby is not too far from team training and then Bobby might need another week to do more things," he said.

Apart from that, Klopp revealed Curtis' condition is fine, and has done as much as is allowed. In fact, Curtis could go out and run a marathon, but that's not allowed yet. He had to wait until the doctor gave the team the green light.

The main question of choice is whether Klopp chooses Joel Matip or Ibrahima Konate to partner Virgil van Dijk in defence, with the role divided equally between the two centre-backs over the last three games.
