SOLO - PSIM Yogyakarta won 3-1 victory over Hizbul Wathan FC (HWFC) in the second round match of the 22021/2022 League at Manahan Stadium, Solo, Central Java, Monday (8/11) night. With a total of 10 points, PSIM's chances of qualifying for the top eight of League 2 are increasingly open.

The top of the standings for Group C League 2 is still led by Persis Solo with 12 points, followed by PSCS Cilacap with 11 points and PSIM Yogyakarta with 10 points.

PSIM Yogyakarta Head Coach, Seto Nurdiyantoro, expressed his gratitude for the victory against the HWFC. He acknowledged that there was a chance to qualify for the last eight of Liga 2 with a narrow point difference between Persis and PSCS. However, PSIM will be more focused on facing the match rather than thinking about the top eight.

"Okay the opportunity is there, but I leave it to God myself. If God permits, we can pass the last eight. But whatever it is, we as a team, we players have to work first. And we will not think too far for the top eight, we will focus on every match," explained Seto during a press conference after the match, Monday night.

Seto admitted, in the match against HWFC there were still many shortcomings from the PSIM team. In the first half, he actually instructed the players to press more and dominate the game.

However, in fact in the first half there was a goal from HWFC. Then, in the middle of the first half the PSIM team started to rise again and was able to score goals.

Furthermore, in the second half, Seto reminded his team to put more pressure and create more chances in order to win the match.

"About the results, I'm grateful, we still have to improve. I think HWFC performed quite well, they had a lot of opportunities. For HWFC to keep the spirit, keep fighting, there are still a few games to move forward," added Seto.
