MADRID -- Real Madrid are reportedly eyeing Villarreal's Pau Torres. Real Madrid want this central defender in the transfer market next summer.

The 24-year-old has been linked with a move from Villarreal since the transfer market last season. At that time Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur paid attention to Torres.

Torres had revealed that he refused to leave last summer. He admits he still wants to add at least another year with this team.

From Villarreal's side, they could not hold the Spaniard for a long-term contract. Reporting from the Sportsmole page, Marca reports that Real Madrid are interested in seeing Torres as a replacement for Sergio Ramos.

Torres currently has a 50 million euro price tag on his release clause. During the 2021/2022 season, Torres made seven appearances in all competitions.

Real Madrid have just recruited David Alaba on a free agent status. But following the expiring contract with Ramos, Real Madrid are looking for additional strength, including after releasing Raphael Varane who was sold to Manchester United.
