EMILIA ROMAGNA -- Sassuolo coach Alessio Dionisi said the 2-2 draw against Napoli left a bitter feeling for his team. Although in the end it was a fair ending for both parties.

"I want to commend my players, we are satisfied, but we have a bitter taste in our mouths," said Alessio Dionisi asserted reported by Football Italia on Thursday (2/12).

The Neroverdi trailed by two goals through Fabian Ruiz and Dries Mertens. However, the hosts rose and equalized through Gianluca Scamacca and Gian Marco Ferrari.

The hosts could have ended the game with a win had Gregoire Defrel's late goal not disallowed by the referee after checking via VAR.

"I think it was a balanced game, we stuck to the game and a draw is a fair result. We achieved a good balance."

Sassuolo gave a surprise by beating two big teams Juventus and AC Milan before the 15th match against Napoli.

However, Sassuolo still cannot penetrate the top 10 of the Italian Serie A standings. They are currently in 11th place with 19 points from five wins, four draws and six defeats.
