JAKARTA - Indonesian national team coach Shin Tae-yong is targeting his squad to win in two trial matches against Tira Persikabo, Wednesday (3/3) and Bali United, Friday (5/3) in Jakarta. The national team being trained by Shin consists of U-22 players plus several senior players for the 2021 SEA Games projection.

"We have to win," said Shin after training at Field D Gelora Bung Karno, Jakarta, Tuesday (2/3) night.

The South Korean tactician also asked his players to show their best abilities in the friendly match. Shin wants his foster children to show the results of physical, mental and tactical work in the 2021 SEA Games training camp, which has a series of activities starting on February 8, 2021.

"I ask the players, they have to work hard on the field and must not get used to losing. So they have to keep winning," said the South Korean national team coach at the 2018 World Cup. During the trial matches, Shin Tae-yong also monitored several aspects of his squad including movement with and without the ball. However, at the same time, he also hopes that none of his players get injured during the match.

"We hope that no one gets injured so they can play in the pre-season tournament," said Shin, referring to the 2021 Menpora Cup pre-season tournament which starts on March 21.

Two trial matches for the Indonesian national team for the preparation of the 2021 SEA Games, which were held at the Gelora Bung Karno Intermediate Stadium, started at 20.00 WIB and were broadcast live by the private Indosiar television station. The match was held between the training camp (TC) towards the 2021 SEA Games on February 8-March 6, 2021 in Jakarta.

The 2021 SEA Games are scheduled to take place from November to December in Vietnam. PSSI is targeting the men's football gold medal from this event in order to repeat a similar achievement that was last achieved in 1991.
