Simon Kjaer: I'm Very Happy at Milan
2022-08-02 21:10MILAN -- Defender Simon Kjaer has expressed his pleasure to be back with Italian League side AC Milan after more than eight months out with a serious knee injury.
Quoted from Italian Football, Tuesday (2/8), Kjaer returned to defend AC Milan in a friendly match against OlympiqueMarseille at the Velodrome Stadium, Marseille, France, Sunday local time.
In the match which ended in AC Milan's 2-0 win, Kjaer came on as a substitute for youngster Pierre Kalulu and played 17 minutes.
The Danish player revealed that he was happy to be back playing with AC Milan after he last played for the Rossonerri in December last year.
"I'm very happy. Eight months ago, it was a very long journey but also fun in a few months, then back with the team after eight months of suffering," said Kjaer.
"I'm happy to be here with my team-mates. Now there is a need to grow, both with the team and with personal abilities," he continued.
The 33-year-old continued that he was ready to welcome the new season with AC Milan and admitted that he missed the atmosphere of competitive matches.
Regarding the match against Marseille, Kjaer said it was a tough match because the French team had good and quality players.
"I'm good. Of course I miss the rhythm of playing, you can do anything in training but the real game is something different. Now I have to play, but always focus mentally," explained Kjaer.
