Smalling Threatened To Miss Roma's First Game
8/19/2021, 04:04JAKARTA - Former AS Roma Chris Smalling has reportedly suffered a thigh injury during training and is at risk of missing the first match of the 2021/2022 Serie A season.
The Giallorossi will make their debut this season in the UEFA Conference League against Trabzonspor on Friday (20/8). Roma may have to play without the former Manchester United centre-back.
Smalling, who signed a three-year contract with Roma ahead of 2020-21, has struggled with a series of injuries since signing a permanent deal.
The 31-year-old looks set to miss the first match against the Turkish side and risks being eliminated against Fiorentina in the inaugural Italian Serie A 2021/22 match on Monday (23/8).
Il Tempo reports quoted from Football Italia , Tuesday (17/8), that the former England international suffered a flexor injury in his left thigh and had to stop training on Tuesday.
