Solskjaer wants to build deeper strengths so that United can compete next season.

MANCHESTER - Manchester United (MU) coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is reportedly interested in bringing in three new players in the summer transfer window, reported by Sportsmole , Thursday (1/7). Although United are close to reaching an agreement with Jadon Sancho, Solskjaer is not satisfied.

The Norwegian coach wants to build a deeper strength in order to compete in next season. The reason, he targets to win the title in the 2021/2022 season.

Reports are growing, Solskjaer wants to bring in players as central defenders, defensive midfielders and strikers. West Ham United's Declan Rice, Villarreal's Pau Torres and Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane are targets for Solskjaer.

However, United still need to look at the remaining budget after getting Sancho which is likely to reach 73 million pounds. The 20-times Premier League champions have also been linked with Atletico Madrid defender Kieran Trippier.

Manchester United finished as runners-up in the 2020/2021 season. The Red Devils also failed to take advantage of the opportunity to lift the Europa League trophy. One of United's weaknesses is a central defender.

MU is considered to need Harry Maguire's ideal partner at centre-back. A number of former Manchester United players, such as Rio Ferdinand, have urged Manchester United to bring in a new centre-back.

Sergio Ramos has also been linked with United after his contract with Real Madrid expired. Likewise with Raphael Varane who was a teammate of Ramos at Madrid.
