SOS Khawatir Liga Tanpa Degradasi Rawan Pengaturan Skor

JAKARTA - National football coordinator, Save our Soccer (SOS), Akmal Marhali, assessed that the competition without using a relegation system could be an opening for scoring. He also said the PSSI discourse which wanted to eliminate degradation was deemed not yet important to do.

"If this happens it will be very bad for the development of our football. So far, gambling and scoring have become chronic diseases until finally the Anti-Football Mafia Task Force was formed," Akmal told Repubika.co.id in Jakarta, Thursday (6/5).

According to Akmal, if it's just to keep national football rolling, it's better for PSSI to hold a tournament. Because, he said, a competition without relegation is tantamount to a tournament.

"The absence of relegation does not reflect the essence of the competition. What is worried about is that there is no relegation, players or clubs are playing half-heartedly. Just what it is. So that this competition is not competitive," he said.

The discourse of eliminating relegation in Liga 1 emerged during a virtual PSSI Executive Committee (Exco) meeting on Monday (3/5). The meeting was chaired by the Chairman of PSSI Mochamad Iriawan and attended by 13 of the 15 members of the Exco PSSI.
