Thierry Henry returns as assistant to Martinez in the Belgian national team
9/2/2021, 03:41JAKARTA -- The Belgian Football Federation has announced that Thierry Henry has returned to the Belgian national team. He will be assistant coach to Roberto Martinez according to the agreement until the end of the 2022 World Cup.
The 44-year-old former Arsenal star has previously worked with Martinez twice, between 2016-18 and during the recent Euro 2020 event.
Henry is Arsenal's all-time leading goalscorer. AFP reported on Monday (30/8), he is also the all-time leading scorer for the French national team and previously spent three months in the dark AS Monaco between October 2018 and January 2019.
Henry had been a coach at MLS Canadian League club Montreal Impact, but resigned in March due to family reasons and the Covid-19 pandemic.
