JAKARTA - Thomas Muller admits he is open to following in the footsteps of Thiago Alcantara away from the Allianz Arena, insisting he is "not tied" to Bayern Munich.

Muller started his professional career at Bayern in 2008 and has since helped the club to great success in Germany and the Champions League.

The 31-year-old remains a key member of Flich's squad, but he refuses to rule out a transfer opportunity any time soon.

"I am not attached to this club," the Bayern forward told The Times , as quoted by Goal on Monday (29/3).

"I have a special relationship, I loved Bayern before I started playing for them, but when there are situations where you have to decide to play for a different club, it is not an embarrassing choice and there is no problem at all."

A number of top European clubs have been linked with Muller in the past, including Manchester United and Real Madrid. Liverpool. The German midfielder's latest comments may reignite rumors of a possible move to Anfield next summer.

Muller has appeared in 571 games in all competitions for Bayern, scoring 212 goals and providing 210 assists. He has also won 27 major trophies, including nine Bundesliga titles and two Champions Leagues.

Muller's current contract with Bayern will only expire in the summer of 2023, and Hansi Flick still trusts him to lead the line with Robert Lewandowski.
